What are "distortions"

Distortions are "mistakes in thinking". Cbt is not about trying to convince self that everything is great and cool. It is about seeing the world in a more realistic way. Grouping the mistakes in the way we think helps us to easier notice patterns. If we know that we often blame people for our mistakes, next time we think out blaming other person we can stop ourselfs and ask "Is is really this person fault?". With some practice we notice patterns easier and we stop those negative thoughts faster.
